- Nose
- Heather and malt, cooked plums; notably sophisticated. Makes you want to keep nosing it.
- Palate
- Lovely big, malty dram, buttery and sweet, background ginger, with later claret notes creeping in.
- Finish
- Long, drying, very stylish.
- Comment
- Large, yet complex. A lovely example of this outstanding Speyside whisky which still has far too low a profile.

- Nose
- Rich, sweet and rounded. Cake mix, malted loaf. In time burnt notes, treacle scone then Worcestershire sauce. Light peat, pecan.
- Palate
- Dried fruits. Rich fruit cake. Plum. Soft and deep to start then like the nose becomes grippy, charred and tannic.
- Finish
- Dry. Fruit cake again.
- Comment
- Good, but lacks a little sweetness.
