- Nose
- 'Green' aromas. The forest floor.
- Palate
- Oily. Nutty. Creamy flavours. Sweet.
- Finish
- Firm. Robustly spicy. Long.
- Comment
- One of Speyside's secret delights. But a hard whisky to know. Big flavours, but tightly combined and unyielding.

- Nose
- Rich, oily with a meaty edge. Dubbin. Smoke, fruit and nut and surprisingly fragrant top notes.
- Palate
- Oily rather than silky texture: then a nutty smoky bite and citrus. A full-blooded, mouth-coating experience, and for all its robust, meaty nature, quite gentle.
- Finish
- Long. Meaty.
- Comment
- Soft yet savoury. Mortlach's little brother and a forgotten classic.
