- Nose
- Warm. Sweet.
- Palate
- Lean and spicy. Very lively flavours. Immediate anise. Herbal, Tobacco-like.
- Finish
- Firm, gripping. Took me by the scruff of the neck and sent me to work.
- Comment
- More typical of the unusual hot, dry, cleansing character of this distinctive whisky.

- Nose
- Fresh wood (sandalwood) sweet malt, cherry, spices and peanut shells with a lovely vanilla pod/custardy note.
- Palate
- Sweet fruits (melon, apricot). That sweet vanilla custard takes charge, but there's a nutty undertow balancing things. Oak is fairly firm.
- Finish
- Dry and nutty.
- Comment
- A well built and delicious dram.
