Nose
Peach jam. Crème brûlée. Some fragrant smokiness. Palate
Smooth. Soothing. Very spicy. Scottish tablet. Dusty. A little oaky, but not excessively so. Finish
Smoky. Long, warming. Comment
A heavily sherried whisky that is nonetheless surprisingly lively for its age.
Dave Broom
Nose
A rich slippery nose. Gives little away without water. When added there’s butter tablet mixed with dried fruit, burning leaves and walnut whip. Palate
Big European oak cask influence making it a pretty tannic experience. The impression is of a bowl of nuts and overripe fruit/dates. Finish
Dry and a little smoky Comment
Full-on but distillery character is obliterated
