70- Nose
- Sweet. Aromatic.
- Palate
- Surprisingly heavy-bodied. Creamy-tasting. Vanilla.
- Finish
- Soothing. Late medicinal note.
- Comment
- Very rich for a grain whisky. Not much dimension. No flavour peaks.
Dave Broom
77- Nose
- Firm ‘grainy', grassy with some roast almond. Water accentuates the firmness and brings out some juicy/oily qualities. Gets bigger in time but always dry.
- Palate
- Dry and sweet at the same time. The soft gentle grain does play its part, but overall this is a big whisky with a firm structure.
- Finish
- Surprisingly sweet.
- Comment
- This has personality, weight and is the most tightly focused of the bunch.
