Nose
Slightly overcooked fudge, chopped Brazil nuts and a touch of rubber inner tube. With a little time and water some dried lavender develops and wet hay.
Palate
Sweet and spicy, with barley sugar, real liquorice root, very tannic builder's tea and sweetened malt.
Finish
The maltiness remains the dominant flavour, giving this a lengthy finish.
Comment
The touches of rubber are a little disappointment, but the other notes make up for any indiscretions.

Nose
Warming tyres, pencil erasers and cases, hay bales, orange barley water, fresh lavender bread.
Palate
Stewed tea, malt extract, cinnamon spiced buns, grippy oak, proved bread dough.
Finish
Malty bread crust then the spices dry.
Comment
A little sulphurous on the nose but the palate seems to pull it together.
