Nose
Not very intense but with a distinctive rye presence. Ripe apricot, cider apple. Palate
Smooth, fruity, opening on an elegant rye spiciness. Finish
Warm and lingering. Comment
Rye is well brought in without oak overwhelming. Water brings in a nice minty freshness.
Dave Broom
Nose
Corny, grainy. Seems young, or at least aggressive. Light though there’s also a touch of cardboard and, weirdly, ricotta cheesecake. Palate
Plain start then developing some marmalade, some thick Greek yoghurt and honey. Finish
Sweet and clean. Little caramel. Comment
Perfectly nice, but nice isn’t enough! There’s such a bland similarity between most of these you wonder if it’s whisky-making by committee.
