Tasting Notes

Michael Jackson Nose Reedy, leafy. Dry, smoky. Burnt grass. Sun-dried grass. Hay. Palate Cereal grain. Nutty. Malty dryness, and some oaky sweetness. Finish Very dry maltiness. Vegetal. Lavender. Parsley. Sea air. Comment Has mellowed with age. I missed the more assertively maritime characteristics in some younger Bowmores.

Dave Broom Nose Rich and powerful with a slight biscuity edge. Leather, smoke, burnt orange peel, sultana, Dundee cake. Lovely elegance, mixed nuts, heather, seaweed. Palate Really sweet start, walnut cake, peach, treacle, then the peat surges through along with chocolate powder, wood. Finish Fruit cake, peach dry and smoky. Comment A big, elegant, powerful dram that’s beautifully balanced.
