Nose
Soft fruit. Brambles. Juniper, sea air. Palate
At first the port seems to have sweetened the spirit, and accentuated its estery fruitiness. Then Caol Ila comes through: sandy, dry, junipery. Finish
A nice, lively touch of appetising bitterness. Comment
I would like to try this with lamb.
Dave Broom
Nose
Pale onion skin colour. Clean smooth peatiness. If you could smoke strawberries they’d smell like this. Palate
An interesting mix of pastille-like red fruits/cherry with subtle smoke. A sweet centre with the peat wrapped around. Finish
Sweet, winey, then dry smoke. Comment
It’s a weird one but everything is in balance. Worth a shot.
