- Hard toffee. Peanut brittle. Fruitier (cherries?) when water is added.
- Palate
- Long development of sweet and nutty flavours. Nougat. Coconut ice.
- Finish
- Hard liquorice. Medicinal. Soothing.
- Comment
- An elegant and luxurious malt. Glenrothes. This is an elegant and luxurious interpretation of it.

- Ripe and deep with dried fruits: sultana, apricot then (with water) burnt wholemeal bread crust.
- Palate
- Smoky/sulphur. Burnt but with soft concentrated dried fruit. Like liquid pannetone.
- Finish
- A little short.
- Comment
- Good, but not as good as the distillery bottlings.
