90- Nose
- Fresh burnt grass. Garden bonfires.
- Palate
- Honey. Heather. Sherryish, nutty, buttery. Marshmallow.
- Finish
- Gradual emergence of smoky warmth. Like sitting in front of a log fire.
- Comment
- A lovely whisky. A sweetish bottling. More complex and elegant than the 'official' 12 Years Old, but not quite as expressive as the 18.

85- Nose
- Dense, concentrated nose: mead/metheglin, spiced apple, singed orange peel, peat smoke. Beerenauslese with peat on top.
- Palate
- As you'd expect, thick with a good feel. Quite phenolic, subtle and elegant.
- Finish
- Medium smoky.
- Comment
- A Norse nose, concentrated and delicious with more smoke than you normally find, though maybe a little woody.
