Tasting Notes

Michael Jackson Nose Fragrant. Tobacco. Floral. Juniper. Some seaweed. Palate Sweet, seaweed, juniper, Guinea pepper. Drying. Finish Stalky. Late surge of flowery, peppery, dryness. Very Long. Comment An excellent example of Caol Illa, a highly distinctive malt that is gaining in recognition.

Jim Murray Nose Pulsating peat, hint of lavender and mint. Some vanilla sweetens it with the malt. Palate Rich, oily, fat, chewy and then peaty malt that is almost perfectly sweet and clean. Finish Multi-layered with the peat forming the mighty base and then some supremely toasty malt notes arrive. Comment This is a very high quality, complex version of an underestimated malt at an optimum age. Fabulous!
