- Very woody. Discourages further exploration.
- Palate
- Surprisingly fresh and fruity. What happened to the woodiness? Suddenly, it smacked me in the mouth.
- Finish
- Some fruity, mint-toffee flavours struggle through.
- Comment
- Just too woody for me.

- Big and perfumed, with notes of coffee cake, chestnut, treacle, burnt orange, mulled wine spice.
- Palate
- A little woody and firm, but has just sufficient sweet spirit to carry. Oak, spiced orange, dried fruit, nutmeg. Spicy and quite full with a light touch of burnt sugar. Cognac-like.
- Finish
- Fresh ginger. Oak.
- Comment
- Old, mature, showing its age a bit, but still a remarkable dram.
