Tasting Notes

Martine Nouet Nose Elegant and light. Vibrant gingerbread. Spicy. Stewed apricot. A hint of toasted almonds. Palate Smooth and soothing. Liquorice. Develops into creamy custard flavours. Finish A bit too soft but later enhanced by a spicy note, releasing a slight bitterness. Chewed stalk. Comment Quite a pleasant pre-dinner dram, with light nibbles perhaps. A little shy though. Would yield more at a higher alcoholic strength or in a few years.

Dave Broom Nose Soft and malty. In time there’s heather honey, orange and that nutty spicy note which keeps recurring. Water brings out sweet tobacco. Palate A light, dry, malty start then a really spicy mid-palate. Medium-bodied with a lovely balance struck between spice, dry nut and sweetness. Finish Spicy, slightly dry. Comment There’s plenty going on here. Not big, but has real charm.
