Nose
Scented (a theme emerges) Dried pear, star anise, then jelly babies and an intense pure fruitiness. Great intensity of character. Quince and wine gums.
Palate
Seems to be more in line with a fruit eaux de vie than ‘whisky' (whatever that means these days) Great clean aromatic spirit.
Finish
Firm.
Comment
The Californian St George, not the Norfolk one. One of the finest craft distillers

Nose
Cheesy. Stale cream or yogurt. Above that, a fruity note. But again with a stale hint. Vinegary apricot hidden in a vanilla syrup.
Palate
Sweet and bitter. So bitter ! Like chewing artichoke leaves.
Finish
Fizzy, dry and tangy.
Comment
What a strange (and unpleasant) fellow ! Water cuts the bitterness down a little. But it does not make it better.
