- Nose
- A heathery moorland.
- Palate
- Deft interplay of slightly syrupy, malty, sweetness and very restrained peaty dryness.
- Finish
- Warming, soothing.
- Comment
- On principle, I have misgivings about private bottlings of unidentified malts, but this is an excellent dram.

- Nose
- Appealing: malty (green malt), dry bracken with sweet fruit and nut notes. Dry bracken.
- Palate
- Good, firm attack: toasted nuts, malt but with sufficient toffee sweetness to keep things interesting.
- Finish
- Medium length, pecan, fruit.
- Comment
- I have a vague family connection with the original Stronachie Distillery. Good to see the name back. A good aperitif.
