Nose
Very light, with barrel-aged gin notes of vanilla and juniper. Creamy coconut begins to develop, with softer grain notes. Then suddenly, some robust spicy coffee notes develop. A real surprise.
Palate
Maximum sweetness with Golden Syrup, some honeyed breakfast cereal, a little dusting of powdered liquorice and creamed coconut.
Finish
Sweet and creamy, leaving a terrific mouthcoating oiliness as it subsides.
Comment
Grain whiskies are largely hit and miss, but this one is certainly in the hit camp. Very solid and reliable.

Nose
Resinous. Pine needles and pine sap. Reminds of cough lozenges. Garden mint. A hint of tar.
Palate
Sweet and silky. The same balsamic profile as on the nose. Sherbety. Slightly numbing.
Finish
Quickly fading. With a light astringency.
Comment
An unusual aromatic profile, almost medicinal. Not unpleasant, just a bit different.
