Nose
Herbal with a foggy purple smoke behind and a background rubbery note suggestive of ex-sherry casks. Sultana and wet wool,wholemeal bread and a bbq smoke.
Palate
Oaky with moist Jamaica ginger cake and date. Building up a peppery, smokyheat. Balanced,but lacks a little impact.
Finish
Light smoke.
Comment
Can't help thinking that bottling at 43 would provide the richness it needs in the middle.

Sweet. Malty. Ovaltine. A mix of damp wood and caramel custard. Cooked fruit. Cider apples.
Palate
Smooth and Sweet. Apples coated in fudge sauce. Develops on a gingery dryness.
Finish
Short, vanishing,after a gentle spicy kick. Ginger.
Comment
Correct but nothing captivating. Water enhances the bitter note of the oak.
