Tasting Notes

Martine Nouet Nose Perfumy. Floral and fruity. Rose syrup, wine gums (blackcurrant). Marzipan in the back. Entrancing. Evokes the tender world of a candy shop. Then more of oak. Polished old floor. Palate Lively but smooth. Velvety, lusciously flowing. More oak than fruit but all is well integrated. A pleasant spicy tickle at mid-palate. Finish Drying, spicy, nutty. Lingering. Comment A charming old lady with her pockets full of candies. Who can resist?

Ian Wisniewski Nose Rich and composed, toffee, apricot, cherries, underlying hints of vanilla and chocolate. Palate Creamy créme caramel is soon overlain by a rich fruit sauce with cherries, prunes and apricots, followed by orange marmalade, lightly spicy oak and malty notes emerging. Finish Fruit receedes while chocolate, caramel maltyness opens up. Comment A medley of fruit conveniently assembled in a glass rather than a bowl.
