Tasted in Whisky Magazine Issue 7 by Michael Jackson and Jim Murray.

Whisky Magazine is the perfect complement to the dram in your glass. Every issue brings you fascinating articles on the art, science and romance of the 'water of life', plus page after page of tasting notes.

Tasting Notes

Michael Jackson

Nose
Very fresh in both its heathery peatiness and its juicy, sweet, sherry. Appetising.
Palate
Sweet, flowery, honey-syrup, butter, toast and butter.
Finish
Cinnamon. Lightly spicy dryness. Well-done toast. Gently sustaining.
Comment
Slightly sweeter, fuller and more structured than an earlier (younger) version with no age statement.

Jim Murray

Nose
Stunning: oak and hint of marzipan and cherries. The malt is sweet and multi-layered.
Palate
Initially light with sweet cereal notes and then the oak kicks in to add a drier dimension.
Finish
Toasty with hints of hickory and chocolate fudge. Quite long.
Comment
A substantial malt, which on the palate does not match the complexity of outstanding nose.
