- Nose
- Powerful. Sliced blood oranges in Maraschino liqueur.
- Palate
- Fruity. Cherryish. Sappy. Falls away somewhat.
- Finish
- Late resurgence of fruity flavours. Cream soda.
- Comment
- After that sensuous aroma, the palate is subtle to the point of reticence. Still interesting.

- Nose
- Fat and unctuous with some resinous notes moving into Worcester sauce. Light smoke, Iced Gems, cedar, fig, stewed tea, caramelised fruits.
- Palate
- Very slow and soft showing real maturity. Fungal. Structure and grip. Good age, with a nutty oaky start which grows and opens beautifully.
- Finish
- Fades into chocolate, dust and velvet.
- Comment
- An excellent mature spirit.
