90- Nose
- Polished oak.
- Palate
- Sugared almonds, spicy; flowery, fresh herbs. A dash of herbal, leafy, flowery peatiness.
- Finish
- Sweet, flowery, long, smooth.
- Comment
- Has the complexity I expect from The Glenlivet.
Jim Murray
70- Nose
- Ripe figs amidst oak and malt. Delicously fruity.
- Palate
- Sherry and spice, oak and honey. Much maltier middle. Balance of bitterness and sweetness.
- Finish
- Lots of vanilla plus grapiness and gentle smoke.
- Comment
- Excellent character, though the oak has taken a firmer grip than on the 1967; this is never quite so rich.
