- Nose
- Restrained. Obvious maturity. Great concentration of mellowed fruits, chestnut puree, caramel flan, faded
vanilla,some mushroom,leaf mulch.
- Palate
- Very soft with a beautiful flow of flavours over the tongue. Pontefract cakes (liquorice),hot cross buns. A
‘slow' whisky. Then just as it seems to be dying like an autumn bonfire...
- Finish
- ...the spices light up the finish.
- Comment
- You need to concentrate hard on this one as it does not give up its complexities immediately.

- Nose
- Intense, fruity. Raisins. Fruit loaf. Crème caramel. A pleasant balsamic note. Pine needles. The
sherry signature shows up.
- Palate
- Crisp and a bit stiff at start. The fruit cake notes,so luscious on the nose, are like being squeezed in an
oaky grip.
- Finish
- Dry,spicy and slightly bitter.
- Comment
- Strange fellow with an austere halo. Seems unable to jump out of its oaky frame. It needs time to open up.
