Tasting Notes

Michael Jackson Nose Rich sherry at first. Then malty nuttiness. Cottage pudding. Finally floweriness. Palate Big and oily but very dry. Very dry. Thick-cut bitter-orange and ginger marmalade on well-done toast. Then buttery, syrupy maltiness, developing to nutty sherry sweetness. Finish Richly fruity. Raisiny. Warming. Comment Strictly for lovers of powerfully oaked whiskies.

Doug McIvor Nose Deep and rich, raisins, beeswax and toffee, then a greener edge of toffee apples and wood sap. Palate Dark, luxurious, treacle toffeeish and lingering with fresher notes of apples; oranges and spice. Finish Long, rewarding rich chocolatey and smoky. Comment A formidable dram with enough about it to scrum down with any heavyweight.
