- Nose
- Peaty, smoky, almost sooty.
- Palate
- Firm, slippery. Treacly, oaky. The oak is big but never overpowering.
- Finish
- Like eating hard butterscotch flavoured with root ginger, while indulging the odd post-prandial burp of Christmas pudding.
- Comment
- A beautifully composed, luxurious whisky.
92
- Nose
- Toffee and sherry hand in hand, alongside ripe apples and grape. Sweet and sexy.
- Palate
- Mouth-filling and malty, sandwiched by some fine and extremely clean sherry notes.
- Finish
- Lingering Oloroso and liquorice; good age but light enough for the malt, spice and smoke finish.
- Comment
- Magnificent finesse and charm makes this a Macallan to die for.
