Nose
Fruity (cherryish? Or am I being suggestible? It does have a dark amber colour). Palate
Malty but thin. Tastes like fruity herb bitters. Finish
Very slight. Cough sweets. Comment
Not much evidence of alcohol. Elegant but frail. Doesn’t approach the 1948 I tasted a few years ago.
Martine Nouet
Nose
Very unusual. Almost animal. Beefy, oxtail soup aromas. After a while, becomes earthy and musty, and later on, some sweet aromas break through (toffee, a touch of vanilla). Palate
Sour and tangy citrus fruit notes. Overripe pear. Passion fruit. Nice chocomint taste behind. Finish
Dry, warm and bitter. Comment
Very unusual but interesting. Wood leaves a heavy imprint on malty aromas. Water is a real killer with this one.
