Nose
Fruity. Creamy. Vanilla. Some woody dryness. Palate
Syrupy. Sweet. Green fruits – or chillies. Finish
Burning sensation of having bitten into a chilli pepper. Comment
Interesting in its own right. Hard to envisage as a Macallan, especially with its pale, greeny-gold colour.
Martine Nouet
Nose
Rooty, leafy and spicy. Fresh ginger root, bitter orange. White chocolate. Dill. A slight butyric note. Not the usual sherry nose. Palate
Sweet and spicy. Very oaky. Spices burn the tongue even with water added. Fresh ginger root. Finish
Very warm, a touch of smoke (burnt wood). Comment
An odd Macallan. Light in colour. Quite aggressive, a spicy bite. Where is the elegance and roundness? Macallan on the dark side of the moon!
