- Nose
- Fruity. Creamy. Vanilla. Some woody dryness.
- Palate
- Syrupy. Sweet. Green fruits – or chillies.
- Finish
- Burning sensation of having bitten into a chilli pepper.
- Comment
- Interesting in its own right. Hard to envisage as a Macallan, especially with its pale, greeny-gold colour.

- Nose
- Rooty, leafy and spicy. Fresh ginger root, bitter orange. White chocolate. Dill. A slight butyric note. Not the usual sherry nose.
- Palate
- Sweet and spicy. Very oaky. Spices burn the tongue even with water added. Fresh ginger root.
- Finish
- Very warm, a touch of smoke (burnt wood).
- Comment
- An odd Macallan. Light in colour. Quite aggressive, a spicy bite. Where is the elegance and roundness? Macallan on the dark side of the moon!
