Nose
Darjeeling tea. Dry oloroso sherry. Palate
Rich and smooth, but supple. Emphatically malty. Cookie flavours. Butter. Distinctly fruity. Sweet red apple. Flowering currant. Finish
Toast and ginger marmalade. A hint of smoke. Comment
Modern-day Macallan. Full of flavour but neither cloying nor overwhelming.
Dave Broom
Nose
Slightly oily/resinous with good soft mallty notes, orange (pulp and peel) tea leaf and cream. Palate
Soft with good palate weight. Some prune-like fruit, olive stone, treacle and crisp malt. Good feel. Finish
Long fruity/malty. Liquorice? Comment
Good strong spirit that's in balance with the wood. Young but beginning to hit its stride.
