Tasting Notes

Gavin Smith

Nose
More zest than the eight Years Old, fresh lemon, then it begins to veer towards sticky buns.
Palate
Dry, with resin notes. Dried fruits.
Finish
Appreciably longer than the 8 Years Old. Quite astringent.
Comment
The extra two years have made this a little drier, and it still lacks complexity. Improvement to come here.

Dave Broom

Nose
Broad. Buttery and soft. Ripe fruits, demerara. Dusty and malty underneath, with some floral notes.
Palate
Soft and creamy but still young. A plump palate with brioche, light red fruits and crisp cereal.
Finish
Clean, refreshing, apple mint. Hard butterscotch, rhubarb.
Comment
Best neat. Clean, crisp attack.
