Gavin Smith
Nose
Perfume notes that were not in the younger ones. Marzipan. More complex.
Palate
Expansive fruit, oranges and marmalade: notes more typical of a Macallan.
Finish
Longer and sweeter, much more balanced.
Comment
Starting to get there now. The qualitative jump from 10 to 12 is exactly parallel to that in sherried expressions. I'd buy this one!

Nose
Rounded, some complexity. Fresh malt, hemp rope, burnt grass. Sweetens into toffee, sultana, soft fruits. Hint of smoke, oak and white pepper.
Palate
Mouthfilling. Banana split, milk chocolate and juicy fruits but sufficient crisp oak and malt to balance.
Finish
Medium length. Creamed coconut, popcorn.
Comment
The best balanced of the youngsters. Everything is beginning to fill out. A 'Drink Me' malt!
