Tasting Notes

Gavin Smith

Nose
Spices, barley, subtle floral perfume.
Palate
Firm and confident. More spices, ginger, some trademark Macallan honey and malt.
Finish
Honey lingers, angelica.
Comment
A lovely, elegant yet large whisky. Why would you ever use sherry wood?

Dave Broom

Nose
Drier. Robust and oily: earthy, seasoned oak, hazelnut, dry spices. Cherry stone, dried apricot, ripe pineapple, melon, peels, then into coconut and cocoa.
Palate
Mouthcoating. Peaches cut with toasted nuts, ginger powder, cherry stone, burnt grass.
Finish
Dry, a little fresh malt.
Comment
Good weight. Ripe.
