- Nose
- Malty: combine harvester, green malt, grilled nuts, wholemeal flour. In time some raisin bread, earthy. Like a handful of barley with the soil attached.
- Palate
- As nose but with added clootie dumpling dried fruit notes. Hazelnut spread on wholemeal toast. Gingery.
- Finish
- Baked apple. Hot.
- Comment
- Fine, not a lot of oak.

- Nose
- A fruity breadiness, like banana bread or a Chelsea bun. Toffee, orange juice, ginger and parma violets. A herbaceous element too, along with a compost-like whiff of vegetable peelings.
- Palate
- A creamy sweetness, with peach slices and chocolate coated raisins. Ginger biscuits.
- Finish
- Drying, sulphurous, in an over-bearing way.
- Comment
- Just didn't hang together for me.
