Tasting Notes

Dave Broom

Nose
Malty: combine harvester, green malt, grilled nuts, wholemeal flour. In time some raisin bread, earthy. Like a handful of barley with the soil attached.
Palate
As nose but with added clootie dumpling dried fruit notes. Hazelnut spread on wholemeal toast. Gingery.
Finish
Baked apple. Hot.
Comment
Fine, not a lot of oak.

Arthur Motley

Nose
A fruity breadiness, like banana bread or a Chelsea bun. Toffee, orange juice, ginger and parma violets. A herbaceous element too, along with a compost-like whiff of vegetable peelings.
Palate
A creamy sweetness, with peach slices and chocolate coated raisins. Ginger biscuits.
Finish
Drying, sulphurous, in an over-bearing way.
Comment
Just didn’t hang together for me.
