Nose
Fragrant. Fino sherry. Sacks of spices.
Palate
Wistful. Restrained. Fresh, peat-smoke.
Finish
Wonderfully appetising interplay of juicy sweetness and clean, light, smokiness.
Comment
Drink it and travel back in time. It is one of the finest malts I have ever tasted.

Nose
Sweet ripe apples, lemon and orange.
Palate
Strongly phenolic with citrus fruit.
Finish
Rich, oily and viscous on the palate with a long citrus and phenolic aftertaste.
Comment
Spicier than the 1946 Macallan with the peatiness less pronounced.
