- Nose
- Fragrant. Fino sherry. Sacks of spices.
- Palate
- Wistful. Restrained. Fresh, peat-smoke.
- Finish
- Wonderfully appetising interplay of juicy sweetness and clean, light, smokiness.
- Comment
- Drink it and travel back in time. It is one of the finest malts I have ever tasted.

- Nose
- Sweet ripe apples, lemon and orange.
- Palate
- Strongly phenolic with citrus fruit.
- Finish
- Rich, oily and viscous on the palate with a long citrus and phenolic aftertaste.
- Comment
- Spicier than the 1946 Macallan with the peatiness less pronounced.
