- Nose
- High alcohol. Robust. Orange, dried fruits, Dundee cake. Big, resinous with lacquer-like notes. Some sulphur.
- Palate
- Very aggressive, even brutal, when neat. Water brings out a scented quality, glacé cherries, tobacco. Much better with water.
- Finish
- Tight. Resin.
- Comment
- This is all about power, show and bravado and misses out on elegance depth and nuance. Some will love it.

- Nose
- Very balsamic. Eucalyptus, cedar. Praline, caramelised pecan nuts. Overcooked plum pudding. In the back, a meaty note like Oxo cubes. Séville orange peel. The alcohol is well mastered.
- Palate
- Surprisingly sweet. Cooked plums, orange marmalade. A hint of liquorice.
- Finish
- Dry, lingering oak but still gentle. A rubbery echo.
- Comment
- There is more on the nose than on the palate. Fairly young maybe?
