- Nose
- Substantial and rich. Some liquorice, black fruits,a slightly burnt note,raisin, malt loaf,fruit cake mix. In time there's a lick of leather and a hint of tomato.
- Palate
- Immediately silky with a quite thick mid palate. Slow flavour release, mixing dried fruits,a touch of walnut
and towards the finish. Dark fruits and the merest hint of clove.
- Finish
- Dundee marmalade,then the roasted note. Slightly tight suggestive of its youth.
- Comment
- Glossy and polished. Big flavour rules here.
- Nose
- A great depth of aromas here. Dark fruits like plums,raisins and blackcurrants. Sherry at the fore
with butterscotch and almost green tomato.
- Palate
- Bags of sherry but without all the richness. Fairly expressive with good malt notes and a classy honeyness as well.
- Finish
- Very satisfying with a hint of ginger and oak.
- Comment
- A great after dinner drink with a bold big character.
