Nose
Taut, herbal, spicy and coffeed aromas which display an almost astringent rye-like character. Quite youthful and edgy with a touch of vanilla softening.
Palate
As taut and herbal as the nose! A veritable mouthful of first fill Oloroso – dark treacle, chocolate and rather drying combination of alcohol and tannins. Ooh this is a bit of a brute!
Finish
Intense and mouth-watering with a smoky and spicy finish.
Comment
A very clean, unblemished, herbal sherry monster. Completely lacking in subtlety for me, but this style of whisky has its adherents!

Nose
There is a nuttiness to this, mainly walnuts and hazelnuts. Carrot cake and nutmeg.
Palate
The palate is overly dominating by new oak, with enormous flavours of vanilla and cherry.
Finish
Sweet oak and dark cherry notes.
Comment
One could be forgiven for thinking that this was a flavoured liqueur, with the intensity of the vanilla and cherry flavours.
