- Nose
- Oaky. The sherry influence takes the whisky on the dark side. Concentrated wood extract. Walnut. Damp walls. Not the sweet dried fruit that you expect from a sherry maturation.
- Palate
- Bittersweet. Wood speaks up again. Not much more than this walnut and burnt caramel bitter taste.
- Finish
- Bitter,spicy.
- Comment
- Too old? Or too weak a new make to cope with the sherry influence. Or a poor cask ? Disappointing.

- Nose
- Prune juice, polished wood, very old and dusty. Will it take water? Yes! Squidgy pear and peach.
- Palate
- Lots of tarttannin, with stewed fruits fighting to save themselves from drowning.
- Finish
- Very woody,very tanniny,going nowhere fast.
- Comment
- No balance, too much wood, this whisky has outlived its cask.
