Tasting Notes

Peter Mulryan

Nose
Pot still and candied peel.
Palate
An almost too subtle combination of dry biscuits and lush sherry. The pot still is a bit too well behaved for my liking.
Finish
Malted milk drink for adults.
Comment
A very decent and reserved blend that is simply overshadowed and outclassed by the 12 Years Old.

Dave Broom

Nose
Has complexity and maturity. Full pot still weight, lush and oily with rye, stewed apple, malt loaf, burnt raisin, cooked pear, vanilla pod, dubbin, cocoa.
Palate
Slides into the mouth. A good firm structure with light wood then semi-dried fruits and peels.
Finish
Refreshingly crisp. Big and fruity.
Comment
Big-boned, but the most restrained of the big boys.
