Nose
Rose’s Lime Marmalade, with brine, straw, hay barns and vanilla. Lavender, peaches and jasmine. Syrup and onion chutney. Eventually come sultanas, and baked apples.
Palate
Thick, oily, but with heaps of vanilla and syrup. The baked apples continue with aplomb; baked sponge, too, with strawberry jam. Very warming, with nutmeg and cloves. A touch acidic.
Finish
Quite short and sweet, but the ginger and syrup endures.
Comment
A good spirit under this, which raises the avours.

Nose
A strange and intriguing nose with a mix of soft vanilla, strawberies, raspberries and pastry notes. Then there is a savoury note underneath, tuna cerviche, savoury pastry and sticky figs.
Palate
Carries on from the nose, but now the oak starts to assert itself. Vanilla custard and coconut creams. A deep earthy warehouse note comes out.
Finish
Here hides the citrus, a little bitter orange peel and Oxford marmalade. Hints of honeycomb too.
Comment
A good solid whisky with some interesting flavours.
