Gavin Smith
Nose
Peat smoke, wet moss, scorched timber.

Intense peat, seaweed, and dry, sooty oak. Cooked fruits struggling to come through.

Long and smoky.
Comment
Powerful, pungent malt with everything an Islay enthusiast would wish for.

Nose
Pungent, intense, almost balsamic. Soot/wood embers, canvas, a hint of Arbroath smokie and grassy like a peat bank. Hairy chested.
Palate
Rounded with good weight and depth. Seaweedy and lightly medicinal, hint of cattlecake. The firm centre is tempered by cooked orchard fruit.
Finish
Sweet and slightly nutty. Smoke. Oatcake.
Comment
A punchy, deep malt. Good balance.
