Nose
Soft and spicy with black pepper, barley and honey. Smoke, camphor and gentle peat appears. Deep and inviting with underlying notes of greengage, green apple and a spritz of sea air.
Palate
Lightly oiled and honeyed with a distinct highland heather and barley character. A touch of spice and dry peat on the middle. Not as fresh as the nose but pleasantly oily.
Finish
Good length with the citrus appearing. Lingering squashed fruit, dry peat and spice.
Comment
A lovely blended malt. My only gripe is that the palate is a little too oily, muting the fresher elements and complexity of the nose.
