- Nose
- Cereal and stewed rhubarb, apple. There's more oak here, but it's balanced and toasty. Light pot pourri notes and a lick of varnish. Very fine boned with slight floral lift.
- Palate
- Sweet and with a certain discreet power. There's a dark undertow to this which is overlaid with tangerine and a slightly confected flavour with water. Quite tight, but subtle.
- Finish
- Dry with good length. Menthol.
- Comment
- Quietly understated. An Edinburgh lawyer (but with a personality).

- A slight farmyard note, like a pasture after the rain.Sweet almost menthol quality. Table polish.
- Palate
- Sweetness continues with light, nutty notes. The melted brown sugar tone shines through.
- Finish
- Very satisfying.
- Comment
- Very rounded performance that almost creeps up on you.
