- Nose
- Plenty of oak-derived notes. Peeled twigs, sea-soaked wood. Pebbles. Water shows it to be a little fractured, the cracks of age showing.
- Palate
- Light and quite pure but another which just drifts away half way through the conversation. Porcelain. Marine rather than smoky.
- Finish
- Little short.
- Comment
- Perfectly sound but I'd prefer more depth (and that doesn't mean heaviness) for a 30 Years Old.

- Nose
- Light and floral. A marine breeze around. Distant smoke which floats around without creeping in. Delicately fragrant, like after a summer shower rain in a flower garden.
- Palate
- Very ethereal and light. Like muslin. Vanilla syrup. Some light fruity notes. All flavours are like dimmed.
- Finish
- Dry, lightly smoky. Fresh almonds.
- Comment
- This whisky is definitely more a watercolour than an oil painting. A light weight but very succulent. Didn't they say “whispering”?
