Tasting Notes

Martine Nouet Nose Old oak floor. Antique shop. Varnish and a hint of burnt plastic. Touch of linseed. Nutmeg. Cooked plums. Orange marmalade. Complex. Palate Assertive bit with a good integration of oak. Layers of liquorice, fruit and toffee lusciously intertwining. Finish Oaky, bold. Walnut come back. Comment A muscular yet elegant old malt. Brisk and complex. Alcohol is somewhat insistent.

Dave Broom Nose Very precise and biscuity, coal dust, light dried mint then thyme. Palate A soft smooth flow showing good maturity and complexity. Fine spread of flavours. Caramelised apple. Finish Long, teasing. Comment This shows the delicate savoury spiciness of age. Good.
