Nose
Turps mixed with mint cordial cut with some form of embrocation. Becomes more sugary with time and then rye, highly perfumed rye at that.
Palate
That oily almost soapy quality but here it's accompanied by a scattergun of allspice clove and maraschino, grippy and powerful.
Finish
Hot.
Comment
It packs a wallop but too intense for me.

Nose
Very unusual. A mix of pine and eucalyptus. Almost medicinal. A huge whiff of caraway. Far far behind, a fruity note. Sour apple.
Palate
Sweet at start then bitter and oaky. Even grippy. A touch of overcooked damson jam.
Finish
Dry, bitter, oaky.
Comment
An old bourbon or rye? It has stayed too much in casks. Oak has taken the control. Too bad because there is some goodness under.
