Nose
Sand dunes. Gorse in blossom. Clean, fresh, very dry, fudge. Or perhaps Scottish tablet. Palate
Creamy, oaty, becoming grainy. Cereal grain. Slightly vegetal flavours. Scotch broth? Finish
Some grainy astringency. Comment
My guess is that the whisky was initially less rich and malty than the "official" Glen Deveron bottlings. The port finish adds some roundness and interest.
Dave Broom
Nose
Quite light, delicate and fruit: raspberry is the main note along with very light malty notes. Palate
Sweet all the way through from start to finish. Some boiled sweet, marzipan; winey rather than malty. Finish
Very light. Rose wine (Tavel). Comment
Inoffensive, but what's the point?
