- Nose
- Sesame toast. Sweet oranges. Marsala wine.
- Palate
- Fresh. Oily. Light and lively on the tongue. More sesame toast – an exotic transformation of the whisky's typical cereal grain character.
- Finish
- Fresh tangerines, pistachio nuts, then peppercorns. Very big and very long.
- Comment
- This highly respected whisky lives a blamelessly quiet life near Elgin. One little drink of Marsala and the Lossie goes all Mediterranean.

- Nose
- A charred wood note, date, quite nutty in an oxidised wine fashion. Water brings out fruit cake.
- Palate
- Soft and smooth with a rich fruity core. That charred note comes through in a slightly jarring manner.
- Finish
- Long and quite dry.
- Comment
- One way to get people to rediscover Marsala, but what we need is to get them to discover Longmorn. More Sicilian than Speyside.
