Nose
Oak, cedar, spearmint. Palate
Cypress. Sweet leaves. Fruity, winey, oaky. Finish
Hint of peat. Powerful. Slightly woody. Comment
Any whisky-lover would be glad of the chance to taste this, even if it is on the woody side.
Dave Broom
Nose
Fat and very sherried: walnut, treacle toffee, sticky toffee pudding, raisin and a strangely vegetal note. Palate
Full-on sherry. The wood seems to have taken charge, giving it a slight astringency. Finish
Long. Walnut bread. DRY. Comment
Well made, but there’s just too much sherry character which diminishes any complexity. A shame for the spirit which seems very good.
