- Nose
- Very fruity, and nutty. Dark fruits, like figs.
- Palate
- Walnuts. Brandy butter. Big, sweet, malty background.
- Finish
- Cigar tobacco. Lingering warmth.
- Comment
- Can the elegant Yamazaki whisky stand up to heavy sherry? In this case, yes. A dexterously balanced malt.

- Nose
- Overt ‘sherry' notes: dried fruit, nuts etc. Similar to a palo cortado. A lovely red fruit quality alongside butter, raisin and, in time, toffee apple/baked apple and a hint of smoke.
- Palate
- Good rich weight and a soft feel. Chewy. Great balance.
- Finish
- Rounded.
- Comment
- An elegant, beautifully balanced whisky.
