80- Nose
- Treacly. Icing sugar. American cream soda.
- Palate
- Good malt background. Vanilla. Liquorice. Slight coal/tar smokiness.
- Finish
- Soothing rather than aggressive.
- Comment
- A big whisky, with some of the smokiness I remember.
Dave Broom
75- Nose
- Rich, malty, sweet: nutty toffee, caramelised apple, vanilla, butterscotch. With water, light spice and smoke, balsa wood and a sappy youthfulness.
- Palate
- A sweet, nutty start, then dries. Good weight with slightly hard spirit. Decent balance.
- Finish
- Dry, fresh.
- Comment
- It just might benefit from a little more time in the cask.
